PRACTICE: Connect to the LightStream & Stream Media
This exercise is for you if you have a LightStream and want to practice connecting to it.
With your LightStream Pocket, watch video Tutorial: LightStream Wifi Hotspot and follow the steps as shown in the video, pausing when necessary. (The video is found a few sections back from this one).

PRACTICE: Upload Media to LightStream
This exercise is for if you have a LightStream and want to practice adding new media.
If you haven’t yet signed into your LightStream’s admin, watch the video in the previous part, “Tutorial: LightStream Admin – Logging In”. Then watch the following videos to see different ways to add new media to the LightStream.
LightStream Strategies
The following are some of the different strategies and situations where the LightStream can be used. Read over the three that are listed and then answer the following scenarios based on the strategies you learned. Feel free to think of other strategies as well! This is a good exercise to do in a group.

STRATEGY: Watering Hole
Leave device permanently running in a central location
Plug into a wall
Put up a sign & tell people about it
Examples: A church, Bible study, village well, or coffeeshop;
Useful for both discipleship and evangelistic media.

STRATEGY: Fishing Pole
Turn on temporarily in a public place
Wait for people to discover it and connect
Consider using chat & follow-up form
Examples: A train, airport, coffee shop, or park;
Especially useful for evangelistic media clips

STRATEGY: Duplication
Copy media to microSD cards
Carry LightStream with you and help people download files over Wifi if they want them
Examples: Share discipleship materials after a Gospel Film showing;
Useful for both discipleship and evangelistic media.
PRACTICE: Choose a Strategy
Choose the best strategies for the scenarios based on the those listed above (Watering Hole, Fishing Pole, & Duplication). Scroll to the end to see the answers for the scenarios.
Scenario 1:
You’re leading a small group and at each meeting, the group downloads weekly discipleship materials from the Pocket.
Scenario 2:
You do a Jesus Film showing in Kenya. Afterwards, you go from house to house and share microSD card that were loaded with the audio Bible by the Pocket.
PRACTICE: Fishing Pole
- Design a poster or something to notify people of the WiFi
- What would you name the WiFi? Choose a name like “Free movies” that will draw people.
- Would you customize the login pop-up? How?
- What other customization would you do? (e.g. featured media, welcome message, etc)
