I have seen established churches plateau. When a new one is planted under the anointing and power of the Holy Spirit within the same geographical location, exponential growth in numbers is experienced.

Also some of the sinners who had felt left out due to ” holier than thou” attitude exhibited by the established churches, come in repentance and join the newly planted church.

I concur with the 13 characteristics for a church planter. May be since we are in 21st century, technological knowledge may be an added advantage in this era. Example during COVID-19 physical evangelism was reduced almost to nil. Those who embraced online services managed to stand. A good number of those who only embraced physical service almost died.

I know of some men of God who embarked on praying and fasting before a new church was planted.Prayer prepared the ground and souls were harvested en masse during open air crusades.

Some ministries did not last for long due to ” holier-than- thou” attitude exhibited by the founders. They were left alone with a skeleton membership. Some men of God who went to evangelize alone leaving their sposes behind backslid due to falling into extramarital affairs.Spousal involvement is a deterrent to such temptations.

I have also seen churches disintegrate due to greed from the preschers who amass every wealth received and they forget to open a church account. Lack of considering colleagues in the Ministry when dividing what is received from the faithful has made good team members to run away.

This teaching has become an eye opener to me and I pray for God’s grace to abound.

    Evangelism, discipleship,membership, Fellowship, worship. <div>

Evangelism powerfully reaches the sinners with the gospel resulting in conviction of souls. After conviction and baptism, the saved are taken thru discipleship session to abide by the teachings of Christ. Fellowship starts where worship becomes the major business.

I concur with the five steps. However, since church planting is not just restricted to countries with freedom of worship, planting may start from membership of a particular group, the planter’s life of love may start touching the lives of members who may ask him/her the secret of such life. From there testimony( evangelism) may commence, followed by conversion of souls who may be discipled, and the sequence follows from there.

At first I looked at it as an atom with several orbitals! Later on I thought it shows the gradual growth of a new church, starting small after evengelism and with time expands.

Another experience is stages of church growth. We often preach, pray for the saved, welcome them to church, fellowship and worship. The DISCIPLESHIP part often misses and we find members do not stick to to the fellowship for a long time. I now understand my weakness and ready to learn more.

The impact of new churches in an arearea having established churches has been understood. In the past I mistook the love of money to be the force behind proliferation of new ones. Now I understand.
