Definition of Church

The Church is the Body of Christ, a community created by the Spirit, and a fellowship of believers who confess Jesus as Lord and Savior. It gathers regularly in local communities to live into its identity in Christ and to live out its vocation as reconcilers in the world. These communities participate with the triune God in renewing all things as ambassadors of the Kingdom to bear witness to and enact the redemptive purposes of the King.

“A healthy community of faith is rooted first of all in the character and nature of God. It understands its mission and purpose in the world and organizes its life and work to be faithful and fruitful in its context.”
